Our Peeps: Emily Peters

Welcome to NH Audubon’s new Education Assistant, Emily Peters!

Emily originates from South Carolina, but comes to us from Wyoming. In 2020, Emily moved to Kelly, WY where they received a graduate certificate in place-based education from the Teton Science School graduate program. Emily continued their graduate career with the Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources at the University of Wyoming, where they conducted a research project regarding the effects of climate change-related hazard impacts on underserved and rural communities across Wyoming and considerations for future climate adaptation work in the state. After spending a couple of years engaging in research, Emily realized their greatest passion was always for environmental education. They are excited for any opportunity to work directly with students to help inspire their passions and motivate positive change.

In their free time, Emily may be found in the mountains hiking or swimming. They also enjoy playing roller derby, caring for their cockatiel, watching live music, or finding new ways to get dirty.
