(Photo and article by Vanessa Johnson)

Join us for a series of informative webinars hosted by the New Hampshire Butterfly Monitoring Network to learn about the fascinating world of butterflies in our state! These sessions are designed to train volunteers in butterfly identification and monitoring, helping to track long-term trends in butterfly populations and support conservation efforts like the North American Butterfly Association count. Topics include an introduction to New Hampshire’s butterflies, butterfly habitats and the species they support, as well as how to get involved as a volunteer. The webinars take place on February 12, 26, March 12, 26, and April 9 from 6:30 to 7:30pm. The Capital Region butterfly count will be held on July 26, 2025, with a rain date of July 27.

Don’t miss this opportunity to help protect New Hampshire’s butterfly populations and learn about the species you can spot in your own backyard!
