With the first day of camp starting on June 23rd, I wanted to take the time to formally introduce you to the 2025 NH Audubon Camp Staff. We have assembled a fantastic group of Camp Educators this summer who are so excited to work with the campers to help them explore nature, to learn about their native wildlife, and have tons of fun!
“I am so excited to get outside this summer and share my love for the outdoors with the youth! My goal for the summer is to make camper experiences the best possible. I am looking forward to the educational activities, games and lessons involving the outdoors and our ecosystems.”
Sarah (Camp Educator at McLane)
“[I’m excited to be] working to teach children of wildlife within that very wildlife. [I want to] get better with working with children, learn more of NH wildlife myself, and make more connections with NH Audubon staff. [An activity I am excited to do is] teaching children of the native birds in our area in things like guided trail walks and demonstrations with captive birds.”
Pat/Rae (Camp Educator at Massabesic)
“[I’m excited to] meet tons of new peeps, spend time with others, and help the littles. I love researching things and then telling people about them so I’m looking forward to telling kids cool things about science and nature and answering their questions.”
Olive (Camp Educator at Massabesic)
“[I’m most excited about] getting to know everything, the animals (especially ambassador animals), the people, the area, I’m excited to be involved! [My goals are to] develop people skills (with coworkers as well as kids), and to get more hands-on experience with wildlife and conservation. I would love to lead exploratory activities like looking for different plant and animal species and teaching about how everything works together in the environment.”
Eryn (Camp Educator at Massabesic)
“I am most excited to spend time outside, leading campers on new adventures and experiences. My goals: 1. Meet some new people, get to know my fellow coworkers 2. Prepare for college next year by decompressing this summer 3. I’d like to get better at directing campers through tougher situations more smoothly. I always get excited about leading some of the run-around games meant to get a lot of energy out, but also the crafts where the kids get to let their creativity show.”
Erik (returning Camp Educator at McLane)
“I’m really excited to help kids discover new interests. [This summer I want to] spend time with friends and family and enhancing my leadership skills. Sports, arts and crafts [are the activities I am looking forward to leading].”
Biswas (Camp Educator at McLane)
“I am most excited to spend time outside and make more fun memories. My goals this summer are to become a better educator, learn more about native flora and fauna, and to make sure each and every camper is seen and heard. I am most looking forward to leading the egg drop again this summer. I am also looking forward to teaching about pond health and animals.”
Ruby (returning Camp Educator at Massabesic)
“[I’m most excited about] coming back to the camp and having fun with the kids and staff. My goals: gaining a heightened sense of professional responsibility, staying consistent with football and things that keep me happy, possibly meeting some of my old LIT and camper friends back as counselors. All camp games, camouflage, fun crafts, and hosting running games with the kids [are some activities I’m excited to lead].”
Ben (Camp Educator at McLane)
“[I’m excited about] helping campers learn about and connect with nature. My goals: complete the NH 48 4000 footers, pass my online Spanish class, and make every day exciting at camp. Predator prey and bombardier beetle + hikes to Battery and Blueberry Point.”
Nate (returning Camp Educator at Massabesic)
“I am most excited about seeing previous campers again, and any new campers! Professionally, I want to learn to understand neurodivergent children better. [I’m excited to lead] the all camp games including Bombardier beetle and predator prey. I want to lead more animal presentations as well.”
Luke (returning Camp Educator at Massabesic)
“I’m most excited about creating fun and meaningful memories with the campers. I love seeing their faces light up during activities, and I’m looking forward to leading hikes, playing games, and overall being outside enjoying nature. I’m also excited to reconnect with returning staff, meet new team members, and continue growing as a counselor. Audubon has such a special energy, and I can’t wait to be part of it again this summer. One of my goals this summer is to grow more confident in leading activities and supporting campers in a positive way. I also want to work on being more patient and understanding in all areas of my life, not just at camp. I’m really looking forward to leading fun and active games like capture the flag, frog detective, and new team challenges that help campers build friendships, enforce inclusion, and work together. I also can’t wait to come up with creative crafts and spend more time on group storytelling. Most of all, I’m excited to lead lessons that focus on kindness, teamwork, and building confidence!”
Maliha (returning Camp Educator at Massabesic)
“I am most excited about spending time in nature, getting to know my co-workers and the campers, and sharing my love for the great outdoors. I would like to maintain a strong balance between work and academics, I want to spend as much time outdoors as possible this summer, I would like to challenge myself to try new activities and meet new people. I am looking forward to leading an activity about reading the forested landscape – identifying tree species based on bark and leaf litter. I would also enjoy going on nature walks.”
Caroline (Camp Educator at McLane)
“I’m most excited about being outside and doing fun activities with the campers. Two goals I have this summer are to get ready for college and provide a safe and fun camp experience for the campers. Some activities I’m most looking forward to are the animal presentations, exploring the trails, doing nature crafts and the nature games.”
Emma (Camp Educator at Massabesic)
“I’m most excited to spend time outside teaching kids about nature. Some goals I have are to expand my own outdoor knowledge, get kids involved in nature, and have them understand all of the fun things nature has to offer. Some lessons I’m looking forward to are the survival strategies, nature detectives and becoming scientists.”
Chloe (Camp Educator at McLane)
“I’m excited to spend time with the campers outdoors and do some hiking and mountain biking in my spare time! My goals for this summer are to spend most of my time outside, have fun with my campers, and go on adventures with some friends. I’m looking forward to leading walks to go ponding, playing games in the field, and completing crafts! I especially love seeing the campers get into Leafster and crafts such as the stick bug craft.”
Ava (returning Camp Educator at McLane)
“Sharing my love for the outdoors and spending time with the campers! [My goals are to] create fun and engaging lessons for the campers, to grow as a leader, and to have fun myself! [I’m looking forward to building] fairy houses, playing camouflage, and crafts!”
Acadia (Camp Educator at McLane)
“I’m most excited to lead camp adventures and see the kids have a fun week, as well as just seeing returning campers and meeting the new ones. My goals: 1) make sure each camper has the best day possible, 2) help create a positive and inclusive environment, and 3) succeed in my classes. [I’m looking forward to leading] hikes to either Turkey Pond or Lake Massabesic, ponding, park ranger, fort/fairy house building.”
Kiera (per-diem Camp Educator at McLane and Massabesic)
“[I’m excited about] getting kids outside to learn about environmental science in a hands-on way! [My goals are to] get kids excited about nature, get involved in my community of campers and co-educators, and spend as much time as I can outside. I love frogs and am super excited to plan some activities and lessons about amphibians! I’m also looking forward to utilizing the butterfly garden for Things with Wings week.”
