It’s World Migratory Bird Day! Join local birder and NH Audubon volunteer Joe Mahoney for a morning of birding and data collection as we discuss this year’s World Migratory Bird Day theme: Every Bird Counts.
**There will be multiple outings on this day at different locations. This outing will take place along the Northern Rail Trail in Boscawen.**
All ages and skill levels of birders are welcome. If you are new to birding, come and learn the basics. If you are an avid birder, come to learn new techniques, network with other birders, or share your expertise with the group.
Please bring your smart phones or other devices with cellular data connectivity to take photos or audio recordings and submit our important data! You may want to download some tools in advance, such as applications like eBird, Merlin, iNaturalist, or PlantNet.
This is a free event. Some binoculars will be available to borrow – please bring yours if you have them. Dress for the weather with sturdy shoes. Expect to walk between 1-2 miles over varied trails with some elevation change through grassy and wooded terrain. Trails may be soggy or muddy in the rainy season. Pets should be left at home for this outing. Meet at trail entrance near George W. Smith parking area.
By attending this event, you and anyone you register on behalf of agree to NH Audubon’s Outdoor Education Program Liability Release & Agreement Waiver. Please contact Lauren Betz with any questions.
Birding Outings are free to attend. If you feel inspired to support New Hampshire Audubon’s work, please consider a gift to our Annual Fund at nhaudubon.org/donate.
