Accompany your 3-5 year-old as we examine nature and the seasons at the John Brockway Nature Preserve in Hopkinton through the Brockway Wee Explorers Program! The Spring 2025 Program Series begins in February with these programs:
- Friday, February 7: Wonders of Winter: What happens to wildlife when winter comes and the days get cold and snowy? Accompany your 3-5 year-old to discover what animals do to get through chilly New Hampshire winters.
- Friday, February 21: Hide and Seek: Like many children, some animals “play” hide and seek to escape predators. Learn how and why, and do a little hiding and seeking of your own, in this installment in the Brockway Wee Explorers series!
This is an outdoor location with no bathroom facilities. Please dress children for the weather and be ready to walk on the trail, sit on logs and the ground, and dig in the snow and dirt! Programs will be canceled if poor weather is predicted during the program time; participants will be notified via email of cancellations.
For detailed directions to the preserve, search for Brockway Pond on Google Maps or visit this webpage. This program is free, with a suggested donation of $5 which can be made with cash in person or by visiting our donation page. Thanks to an endowment from Dorothy Brockway Osborne, this program is free for Hopkinton Residents. For other questions, please contact Devin Guilfoyle via email or call 603-224-9909; ext. 313.
