Our Peeps: Jake Morel

Welcome to NH Audubon’s new Newfound Center naturalist, Jake Morel! Visit him this summer at Paradise Point, starting Saturday July 4.

Jake, a Newfound area native, grew up hiking in the White Mountains and paddling in the Lakes Region. Jake has a BA in Geography and a minor in Environmental Studies from Keene State College. Before transitioning into a career teaching in the classroom, Jake worked with a variety of organizations including State and National Parks, the Army Corps of Engineers, and several non-profit organizations in New York, Maryland, Arizona, and Oregon. With experience as a botanist, wildlife monitor, trail crew leader, and environmental educator, Jake is excited to get back to his roots and share his passion for the forests and shores of Newfound Lake.

When not at the Paradise Point Nature Center, Jake can be found paddling, hiking, soaking in some live music, or playing board games with his friends and family.
