Goodbye Beloved Ball Python

Goodbye Beloved Ball Python

(by Slater Roosa)

NH Audubon recently had to say goodbye to one of our cherished ambassadors. The female Ball Python at the Massabesic Center passed away in early October after a long and incredible life’s journey. She was born in 1995 and arrived at NH Audubon in 2000. While she lived and worked at the Massabesic Center over the last 25 years, she met thousands of people at schools, events, and birthday parties. Her service allowed everyone who interacted with her a chance to touch, see, and learn about amazing reptiles. While pythons are not native to New Hampshire, she was an excellent representative for all of our local snake species, inspiring children and adults alike to want to protect the reptiles that call NH home. We at NH Audubon would like to thank her for her amazing contributions to the conservation of reptiles and for being a wonderful coworker over the years.
