We have some unfortunate news to report on the Brady Sullivan Tower Peregrine Falcon chick, Madi. This past weekend she was enthusiastically practicing flapping her wings at the edge of the nest box and caught a gust of wind and fell. NH Audubon volunteers in the area quickly visited the site after it occurred, but didn’t see any sign of Madi when they arrived. Biologist Mickayla Johnston and volunteers have continued to check the surrounding area as well. Peregrines generally leave the nest between 40 and 45 days of age and rely on their parents for food while learning to fly and hunt. Madi was 37 days old at the time of her “fludge.”

If you see (or hear) Peregrine Falcon Madi (band number Black/Green 98/CD), contact NH Audubon at 603-224-9909, NH Fish and Game at 603-271-3421, or wildlife rehabber Maria Colby at 603-428-3723.
