Our Peeps: Ben Toth

Welcome to NH Audubon’s new Conservation Lands Manager, Ben Toth!

Ben grew up hiking trails around New England, roving through the woods and seeking out high places hither, thither, and yon. These formative years in green and wild places instilled in him a deep belief that everyone should be afforded a chance to explore the natural places around them. After completing his education, Ben has devoted his career to protecting natural areas around the country for wildlife and people to enjoy. The road has gone ever on and on, from backcountry ranging in the deserts of Arizona to tackling invasive species in Michigan to working across the country with the US Forest Service. While with the US Forest Service Ben honed his skills on wildfire suppression assignments, hurricane recovery details, and building trails throughout the White Mountains. He is excited to bring his experience and skills to bear with NH Audubon, where he will continue to work to make sure all can enjoy and explore the natural world around them.

When he’s not hiking the trails of NH Audubon, Ben is out exploring the woods with his wife and their dog. He also enjoys gardening, woodworking, and a good board game with friends. If you catch him on the NH Audubon trails, make sure to say hello and let him know about any blowdowns you’ve found!
