NH Audubon at the 2025 Monadnock Region Natural History Conference

(by Lindsay Herlihy)

The third annual Monadnock Region Natural History Conference (MRNHC) was held on November 15th. This fabulous, approachable venue for all nature lovers featured a keynote speech by cartoonist and author Rosemary Mosco, along with 22 short talks and 9 poster presentations covering topics such as local conservation research, environmental education, and land management. Representing NH Audubon, biologists Dr. Pamela Hunt, Chris Martin, and Lindsay Herlihy presented on range-wide Wood Thrush movement ecology, the history of Bald Eagle Recovery in the Monadnock Region, and Monarch butterfly migration tracking. Venues such as MRNHC create invaluable opportunities for NH citizens to hear about ongoing research and conservation efforts in their own communities. NH Audubon is grateful for the opportunity to share our important work!

MRNHC is an annual conference open to the public and coordinated by the Harris Center for Conservation Education, Keene State College, Antioch University, Society for the Protection of NH Forests, University of NH, Franklin Pierce University, and Historical Society of Cheshire County.
