This is New Hampshire Audubon’s Rare Bird Alert for Monday, January 26, 2026.

A THICK-BILLED MURRE was seen at Odiorne Point State Park on January 22nd.

2 male BARROW’S GOLDENEYES continue to be seen at the Silver Lake outlet in Tilton and were last reported on January 22nd.

9 BLACK VULTURES were seen at Hurd Farm in Hampton on January 24th.

A ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK was seen along Front Street in Exeter on January 23rd.

A NORTHERN HARRIER was seen at the Bellamy River Wildlife Management Area in Dover on January 22nd.

A RED-SHOULDERED HAWK was seen in Rochester, 1 was seen in Dover, 1 was seen in Lee, and 1 was seen in Portsmouth, all during the past week.

A NORTHERN SHRIKE and a CANADA JAY were seen along Reed Road in Colebrook on January 24th.

8 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS, and 6 RED CROSSBILLS were seen at the MKB Preserve in Conway on January 24th.

3 RED CROSSBILLS were reported from Lempster, and 4 were reported from Wilmot, all during the past week.

A few PINE GROSBEAKS were seen in Jefferson during the past week.

EVENING GROSBEAKS were reported from scattered locations during the past week, including a flock of over 100+ in Jefferson.

A flock of 25 COMMON REDPOLLS was seen along Hazen Road in Jefferson on January 23rd.

Up to 6 AMERICAN PIPITS were seen at Rye Harbor State Park and coastal Rye during the past week,

4 LAPLAND LONGSPURS were seen at Hampton Beach State Park on January 21st.

2 FOX SPARROWS were seen in Londonderry on January 25th.

A BALTIMORE ORIOLE was seen in Portsmouth on January 25th, and 1 was seen in Kingston on the 21st.

An ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER was seen at Hampton Beach State Park on January 23rd.

A YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER was seen in Harrisville on January 25th. and 1 was seen in Exeter on the 24th.

There were multiple reports of YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKERS and WINTER WRENS from scattered locations during the past week.

A RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER was seen on Mechanic Street in Gorham, and 1 was seen on U.S. Route 2 in Shelburne, both on January 24th.

A NORTHERN FLICKER was seen in Jaffrey and 1 was seen in Concord, both during the past week.

A CAROLINA WREN was seen in Lancaster on January 23rd, 1 was seen in Franconia on the 24th, and 1 was seen in Plymouth on the 25th.

A HERMIT THRUSH was seen in Dover and 1 was seen in Gilford, both on January 25th.
