Go Outside with NH Audubon, Even from Inside

Go Outside with NH Audubon, Even from Inside

(by Sheryl Horton)

When is the last time you walked an NH Audubon trail at a sanctuary or visited a center? Sometimes as winter sets in, it can take more energy to get out the door, but thanks to modern technology, you can still visit, learn, and engage from your screen! NH Audubon has four virtual tours to explore while the wind and snow blow outside. Each tour provides a walkthrough of a specific site with interesting information and a reminder of the biodiversity our sanctuaries conserve and sustain.

  • The Pollinator Garden at McLane might spark your own garden planning ideas and provide valuable information on native plants to nurture. It’s also burst of color to revel in when it’s cold outside.
  • If you’ve never visited Ponemah Bog Wildlife Sanctuary, explore it here first to inspire a visit to this unique kettle hole bog by learning about the rich wildlife and plant life supported on this land.
  • Virtually touring the Massabesic Center and its trails offers an opportunity to explore how water and wildlife are connected. Perhaps this guide will help you decide your next hike, too!
  • Exploring Thompson Wildlife Sanctuary online before making a trip north is enticing. This diverse area has many features to explore from wetlands to old growth forest and keystone wildlife species.

Each area offers a refreshing look at our rich and diverse New Hampshire landscape, information on the important research and education we do at NH Audubon, and another way to get involved in conserving our resources for the present and future. Find your next inspiration now!
