Birding Outing at Deering Wildlife Sanctuary

April 24 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 am

Free

Join NH Audubon for a birding outing at Deering Wildlife Sanctuary!

This is an informal birding outing that will meet at the Deering Wildlife Sanctuary parking lot and explore along the trails with NH Audubon biologist, Diane De Luca. All ages and skill levels of birders are welcome. If you are new to birding, come and learn the basics! If you are an avid birder, come to learn new techniques, network with other birders, or share your expertise with the group.

At this time of year, we are focused on spring phenology – the cyclical changes we observe across the seasons – and will take note of migratory species, budding and blooming plants, and more! Fox Pond has been known to be a haven for species such as Eastern Bluebirds, Great Crested Flycatchers, Wood Ducks, and Hooded Mergansers.

This is a free event. Please dress for the weather, with sturdy shoes. Expect to walk between 1-2 miles over uneven trails through grassy and wooded terrain. Trails may be soggy or muddy in the rainy season. Dogs are not allowed on this walk. This site does not have bathroom access. Please contact Lauren Betz with any questions.

By attending this event, you and anyone you register on behalf of agree to NH Audubon’s Outdoor Education Program Liability Release & Agreement Waiver.
