Birding Outing at Stoney Brook Wildlife Sanctuary
November 15 @ 8:00 am - 9:30 am EST
FreeJoin NH Audubon for a birding outing along the trails of the Stoney Brook Wildlife Sanctuary in Newbury, NH. We will meet in the parking lot of the Marsh View Trail on Chalk Pond Road.
This is an informal birding outing that explores the sanctuary trails with Paradise Point coordinator and NH Audubon educator Devin Guilfoyle. All ages and skill levels of birders are welcome. If you are new to birding, come and learn the basics! If you are an avid birder, come to learn new techniques, network with other birders, or share your expertise with the group.
The western parcel of Stoney Brook Wildlife Sanctuary is a forested habitat that runs along a marsh. We can expect to see yearlong residents of New Hampshire, including Blue Jays, Dark-eyed Juncos, and Red-bellied Woodpeckers.
This is a free event. Binocular rental is provided. Please dress for the weather, with sturdy shoes. Expect to walk between 1-2 miles over mostly flat, but uneven trails through wooded terrain. Trails may be soggy or muddy in the rainy season. Dogs are not allowed on this walk.
RSVP
Please email Devin (dguilfoyle@nhaudubon.org) if you RSVPed but can no longer make it to the outing so we can open a space for another participant.
