Work continues with the Motus project, part of a global migration tracking system that NH Audubon and many partners are expanding in the Northeast. Here are a few photos showing some of the latest activity.
This Rusty Blackbird (by A. Peel) is one of three that recently received nanotags in Berlin.
Transmissions from these tags will enable NH Audubon biologists to determine when they leave their nesting areas, when they leave on fall migration, and what routes they take south. This new receiving station (below, by L. Burford) on a Berlin hillside will record signals from the recently tagged Rusty Blackbirds nesting in the valley below.
