Birding Outing at John Brockway Nature Preserve

October 25 @ 8:00 am - 9:30 am EDT

Free

Join NH Audubon for a birding outing along the trails at the John Brockway Nature Preserve in Hopkinton, NH. We will meet in the parking lot on Farrington Corner Road.

This is an informal birding outing that begins at the parking lot and explores the trails with local birder and NH Audubon volunteer (and former wildlife biologist), Mark Suomala. All ages and skill levels of birders are welcome. If you are new to birding, come and learn the basics! If you are an avid birder, come to learn new techniques, network with other birders, or share your expertise with the group.

The Brockway Preserve offers a trail system through a wooded area, running along a pond and ending near a beaver meadow. Potential species will include various migratory waterfowl, such as wood ducks, sparrows, such as song sparrows, and other woodland birds of New Hampshire.

This is a free event. Binocular rental is provided. Please dress for the weather, with sturdy shoes. Due to the small size of the parking lot, carpooling is encouraged. Expect to walk between 1-2 miles over mostly flat, but uneven trails through wooded terrain. Trails may be soggy or muddy in the rainy season. Dogs are not allowed on this walk.
