Brockway is Back!

Brockway is Back!

(by Devin Guilfoyle)

October marks the return of the Brockway Wee Explorers program series! Accompany your 3-5 year old as we examine nature and the seasons at the John Brockway Nature Preserve in Hopkinton. The Fall 2024 series with two programs kicks off with these programs:

  • October 2: Senses in Nature – We all use sight, sound, touch, and smell to make sense of what is around us. See how different animals use their senses to navigate their world, and how we use our senses to figure out ours!
  • October 16: Leaves, Wonderful Leaves – What happens to trees when the days get shorter? Does it happen to all trees? Explore the Brockway Preserve amidst peak foliage and see why fall is important in nature.

Programs will start at 10am and will run approximately 45 minutes. Programs are free, with a suggested donation of $5. Thanks to an endowment from Dorothy Brockway Osborne, programs are free for Hopkinton Residents. RSVP is required.

This is an outdoor location with no bathroom facilities. Please dress children for the weather and be ready to walk on the trail, sit on logs and the ground, and dig in the dirt! Programs will be cancelled if poor weather is predicted during the program time; participants will be notified by email of cancellations. Park at the Brockway Nature Preserve parking area along Farrington Corners Road in Hopkinton. For detailed directions, search for Brockway Pond on Google Maps or visit this webpage.
