Join Popple Island Wildlife Sanctuary Steward David Nelson and Project Manager Anita Fernandez on this guided tour of the sanctuary. We will be utilizing iNaturalist and eBird to documents species both seen and heard during this group outing. You do not need any experience with these data collection platforms to participate (cell phones, cameras, and binoculars are all encouraged to bring). Please be prepared for the weather and dress for trail conditions that could included exposed roots, uneven terrain, and trail sections with standing water. There is also the possibility of encountering biting insects. Hiking sticks are welcome depending upon preference.
You can enter 242 Lockes Hill Rd. into your GPS to get to the approximate location of the sanctuary. If coming from Webster Mills Rd. the sanctuary parking will be on your left past the address. If coming from New Orchard Rd. the sanctuary parking will be on your right before you reach the address. You should see an orange Subaru Crosstrek in the parking area and this is where we will gather to begin the outing. This tour will be limited to 12 participants so please be sure to register.
By attending this event, you and anyone you register on behalf of agree to NH Audubon’s Outdoor Education Program Liability Release & Agreement Waiver.
