Transit to Trails is a seasonal program providing public transportation from the heart of Manchester to walking and hiking trails at nearby state parks and wildlife sanctuaries. Join us for the last date of the 2024 season on September 21 at the Massabesic Center.
For the price of a $5 Excursion Pass, you’ll meet other nature-lovers at the bus stop at Veteran’s Memorial Park, located at 723 Elm St, Manchester, NH 03101, for pickup times at 10am, 12pm, or 2pm. The bus will travel for about 15 minutes to the Massabesic Center, where you can enjoy hiking trails, gardens, and an indoor nature exhibit space featuring live turtles and snakes. We’ll also be showcasing a local art exhibit featuring works from the Manchester Artists Association. Bathroom facilities will be available along with drinking water fountains. Buses will depart from Massabesic back to Veteran’s Park at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm.
$5 Excursion Passes will be sold ONLY at Veteran’s Park on the day of the event, beginning at 9:30am. Cash or credit accepted.
The Massabesic Center is wheelchair accessible. For special accommodation needs, please contact Massabesic Center Director, Kimmie Whiteman.
This program is possible thanks to a partnership between The Nature Conservancy, Manchester Transit Authority, NH State Parks, NH Audubon and Manchester Parks Recreation and Cemeteries.
