Fall Tree Identification Walk

This event has passed.

November 9 @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm

$12.00 – $15.00

Wednesday, November 9th from 2:30pm-4:30pm

Join UNH Extension Foresters, Mike Gagnon and Greg Jordan, for a relaxed fall tree ID walk. On this guided walk you will learn how to identify numerous species of shrubs and trees in winter using visual clues other than just leaves – clues such as shape, branching patterns, buds, bark, smell, taste, habitat, cones, and fruits. The ability to identify trees and shrubs by their bark, twigs and buds is a very useful skill for anyone who spends time in the woods. Along the way we can discuss forest ecology, tree disorders, wildlife habitats, invasive species, or other questions that you have about New Hampshire’s forests.

Co-sponsored by UNH Cooperative Extension.

The University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension is an equal opportunity educator and employer. UNH, U.S. Dept. of Agriculture, and New Hampshire counties cooperating.
