Weare Middle School hosted its first ever Science Night on March 8. I was asked to attend the event, being the headliner with a raptor presentation alongside our animal ambassador, the Red-Tailed Hawk. There were over 300 attendees at the event. My presentation focused on what makes a raptor, a raptor, which includes birds of prey such as eagles, hawks, falcons, and owls. Attendees also got to learn about the unique backstory of our Red-Tailed Hawk. There were also many science-themed activities held in various classrooms of the school. Some of these displays included: astronomy, fly tying, owl pellet dissection, and more!
