Thursday, September 26th volunteers are needed to help the American Chestnut Foundation with an American Chestnut harvest in Boscawen and Concord.
For the Boscawen Harvest, volunteers will meet at the Merrimack County UNH extension offices, 315 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH at 9:00 AM and carpool with 4wheel drive vehicles to the chestnut site. For the Concord Harvest, volunteers will meet at the corner of District 5 Rd. and Lake View Drive in Concord at 2:00 PM and then proceed to a small parking area on the south side of District 5 Rd.
Be prepared for bushwhacking through some thickets and uneven terrain. Tick and mosquito protection is also highly advised.
