Muscott\, visible during open hours (Tues-Fri 11am-5pm)\, July 1 through August 31\, 2022. \nSpecial Exhibition Opening Thursday July 7th\, 2022.  4-6 PM \nAccording to Howard\, “Owls have always fascinated me and I’ve spent hours trying to find\, photograph and experience their presence.  Fortunately\, New England in general\, and New Hampshire in particular\, have excellent habitat for these magnificent creatures in every season. Whether indigenous to New England like the Barred and Screech Owl\, or Winter visitors from the North like the Snowy\, Short-eared\, or Great Grey\, Owls are beautiful to photograph in New England environments. Whether indigenous to New England like the Barred and Screech Owl\, or Winter visitors from the North like the Snowy\, Short-eared\, or Great Grey\, Owls are beautiful to photograph in New England environments. Her art education has stretched from Pinkerton Academy to the University of New Hampshire to the Manchester Institute of Arts & Sciences (now the New Hampshire Institute of Art) where she began to explore pen and ink drawing in 1993. A forester with the State of New Hampshire Division of Forests and Lands\, her drawing has turned into something of a second career. Her works draw on her lifetime in fields and forests of New England; truly viewing those rural landscapes from the ground up. \nIngeborg has illustrated three books: Selecting Trees for Urban Landscape Ecosystems\, and Good Forestry in the Granite State 1st and 2nd Editions. She provided most of the illustrations for Project Learning Tree’s Focus on New Hampshire Forests. Additionally\, she has completed commissions for the New Hampshire Timberland Owners Association\, the New Hampshire Tree Farm Committee\, the Granite State Division of the Society of American Foresters and UNH Cooperative Extension. We’ll learn how it is that plants create their own food before oftentimes becoming a food source for someone else!  A scavenger hunt to put our new botanical knowledge to use will conclude this interactive program.  \nIntended for kids and families\, the Buds & Blooms Series is a compilation of five in-person public programs intended to introduce participants to the magic and wonder of our native plants and pollinators. Occurring monthly through October\, each program highlights a topic pertaining to pollinators and includes an interactive activity as well as a take away. SUMMARY:Art Exhibit: From the Ground Up
DESCRIPTION:McLane Center is pleased to announce a new art exhibit on display by artist Ingeborg Seaboyer. The display will be up for public view from June 3-29 in Concord during regular center hours Tuesdays-Fridays from 11am-4pm. \nFrom the Ground Up – A Forester’s View \nIngeborg Seaboyer is a lifelong resident of Derry\, New Hampshire. Her art education has stretched from Pinkerton Academy to the University of New Hampshire to the Manchester Institute of Arts & Sciences (now the New Hampshire Institute of Art) where she began to explore pen and ink drawing in 1993. A forester with the State of New Hampshire Division of Forests and Lands\, her drawing has turned into something of a second career. Her works draw on her lifetime in fields and forests of New England; truly viewing those rural landscapes from the ground up. \nIngeborg has illustrated three books: Selecting Trees for Urban Landscape Ecosystems\, and Good Forestry in the Granite State 1st and 2nd Editions. She provided most of the illustrations for Project Learning Tree’s Focus on New Hampshire Forests. Additionally\, she has completed commissions for the New Hampshire Timberland Owners Association\, the New Hampshire Tree Farm Committee\, the Granite State Division of the Society of American Foresters and UNH Cooperative Extension. She often combines watercolor and colored pencil with her pen and ink techniques\, as well as working solely in watercolor. She is a founding member of the Derry Area Artists Collaborative and her work can be viewed at www.derryareaartists.com.
