Welcome to the Summer 2025 Massabesic Center Assistant Camp Director, Cat St. Hilaire!
Cat St. Hilaire is a freshly graduated fine arts major from the University of New Hampshire. While born in California, their family moved to New Hampshire when they were two, giving them ample time to explore the local forests. Their love of the woods and insects was fostered when they attended NH Audubon’s day camp as a child. Nowadays, they spend most weekends traversing the white mountains with their friends and enthusiastically identifying all the native critters they recognize. In their free time, they enjoy painting, horror movies, and taking care of their ever-growing houseplant collection.
Throughout their four years at UNH, they spent several nights a week attending the university’s fencing club. This would eventually lead to them spending the past few summers teaching fencing. During this time, they learned to love building curricula and doing whatever they could to encourage their students’ learning. They are deeply excited to take on the new role of Assistant Camp Director, where they will be able to apply all they’ve learned about teaching and leadership. Not only will they assist in ensuring the daily activities run smoothly, but will also be able to help instruct future teachers and counselors the ins and outs of the field. They are very grateful to be able to be working with the NH Audubon Massabesic Center.
