DESCRIPTION:Join us for the New Hampshire Butterfly Monitoring Trainings! \nNew Hampshire Audubon is excited to partner with New Hampshire Fish and Game (NHFG) to collect long-term data on butterflies in the Concord region and beyond. Sightings will provide valuable data on how species ranges are changing over time. Your data will help support butterfly conservation across the state. \nThis partnership group will host a series of butterfly ID trainings over the next few months – both online and in the field. Butterfly experts from across the state will be our guides. This is an amazing opportunity to learn and participate in butterfly conservation. \nDuring the series you will receive information about future training webinars and field days that will be offered in your area\, including Butterfly Surveys that will take place at 6 locations across the state. The online and field sessions will provide you with an eye-opening experience to connect with species you may not have noticed in the past. No matter what your skill level is\, you are welcome to join us. Together we can help track New Hampshire’s butterflies and make a difference in their conservation. \nOnline training sessions are scheduled for the following dates: \nFebruary 22 at 6:30pm: Mark Ellingwood will provide basic information on butterfly biology and introduce us to some of the more common species you may see in your neighborhoods. Sign up for this webinar on Nature Groupie. \nMarch 8 at 6:30pm: George De Wolf will explore the world of hairstreaks and blue butterflies. SUMMARY:Monitoring Mammals Across the Granite State
DESCRIPTION:New Hampshire hosts a diverse suite of mammal species\, from mesocarnivores like bobcats to large ungulates like moose. These animals are highly valued by many stakeholders and play critical ecological roles throughout the state. Effective monitoring programs are crucial to the conservation and management of these species\, but their highly mobile and often cryptic nature makes them difficult to monitor. This presentation by Remington Moll\, Assistant Professor at the University of New Hampshire\, will describe a new research project between UNH and the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department that is evaluating the effectiveness of a state-wide mammal monitoring program using trail cameras and drones. \n  \nThe Seacoast Chapter meets monthly on the second Wednesday except the months of July and August unless there is a special program. Refreshments are served at 7 pm and the meetings begin at 7:30 pm unless otherwise noted (entrance doors locked at 7:45 pm). The public is welcome free of charge. In person meetings are held at the Seacoast Science Center at Odiorne State Park\, Route 1A\, Rye\, NH. Wheelchair accessible. DESCRIPTION:Join us for the New Hampshire Butterfly Monitoring Trainings! \nNew Hampshire Audubon is excited to partner with New Hampshire Fish and Game (NHFG) to collect long-term data on butterflies in the Concord region and beyond. Sightings will provide valuable data on how species ranges are changing over time. Your data will help support butterfly conservation across the state. \nThis partnership group will host a series of butterfly ID trainings over the next few months – both online and in the field. Butterfly experts from across the state will be our guides. This is an amazing opportunity to learn and participate in butterfly conservation. \nDuring the series you will receive information about future training webinars and field days that will be offered in your area\, including Butterfly Surveys that will take place at 6 locations across the state. The online and field sessions will provide you with an eye-opening experience to connect with species you may not have noticed in the past. DESCRIPTION:Join us for the New Hampshire Butterfly Monitoring Trainings! \nNew Hampshire Audubon is excited to partner with New Hampshire Fish and Game (NHFG) to collect long-term data on butterflies in the Concord region and beyond. Sightings will provide valuable data on how species ranges are changing over time. Your data will help support butterfly conservation across the state. \nThis partnership group will host a series of butterfly ID trainings over the next few months – both online and in the field. Butterfly experts from across the state will be our guides. This is an amazing opportunity to learn and participate in butterfly conservation. \nDuring the series you will receive information about future training webinars and field days that will be offered in your area\, including Butterfly Surveys that will take place at 6 locations across the state. The online and field sessions will provide you with an eye-opening experience to connect with species you may not have noticed in the past. No matter what your skill level is\, you are welcome to join us. Together we can help track New Hampshire’s butterflies and make a difference in their conservation. \nOnline training sessions are scheduled for the following dates: \nFebruary 22 at 6:30pm: Mark Ellingwood will provide basic information on butterfly biology and introduce us to some of the more common species you may see in your neighborhoods. DESCRIPTION:Date: February 16th\, 5:00pm-6:30pm \nPrice: $12 for members\, $15 for non-members \nJoin local nature photographer\, Tracy Brunner\, at the Massabesic Center for an evening photo hike along Massabesic Lake. The walk will start at the Center and continue on the trails to photograph the beautiful lakeshore landscapes and the local wildlife.
