SUMMARY:A Visit to Lake Umbagog with Bob Quinn with the Lakes Region Chapter
DESCRIPTION:In far northeastern NH lies the richest wildlife area in all of the Granite State- Lake Umbagog. William Brewster\, the paragon of 19th century field ornithologists described it as “…like many a precious stone\, has beauty and charm due to the effectiveness of its perfect setting ….” \nThe Umbagog region is still one of the wildest\, most bird-rich\, areas in northern New England. In this slide show Bob Quinn will share the dramatic scenery of this remote area as well as talk about some of the fascinating changes in Umbagog’s bird life over the last 140 years. The focus of the program will be on the Lake Umbagog National Wildlife Refuge and it’s efforts to protect this dazzling northern lake and the surrounding forests. Bob will also share his visit to Umbagog during the 2024 solar eclipse. \nThis program is perfect for the wildlife enthusiast as well as those wanting to explore a little known corner of New England.

SUMMARY:In the Company of Birds Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:In the Company of Birds by Erin Primiano \nDescription: This collection is a celebration of birds as individuals- each portrait capturing a fleeting moment of stillness\, alertness\, or quiet presence. Set against non-specific\, colorful backdrops\, the birds emerge not just as part of the landscape but as distinct subjects with stories of their own. Through a blend of naturalistic detail and artistic interpretation\, the work invites viewers to notice the subtle expression in a tilt of the head\, the glint of light on eathers\, or the hush of a gaze held still. Inspired by years of birdwatching and a deep respect for the natural world\, these paintings reflect both the joy of observation and the vulnerability of the creatures we share it with. \nExample’s of Erin’s work.\nArtist’s Bio: Erin is a New Hampshire-based artist whose work celebrates the quiet beauty and individuality of the birds. Her paintings focus on the simplicity of bird profiles\, each rendered with careful detail and set against vibrant\, abstract backgrounds that let their personalities take center stage. Inspired by years of birdwatching and a lifelong love of nature\, Erin sees each piece as a portrait- a way of honoring both the species and the singular experience of encountering it. Her work blends realism and reverence\, inviting viewers to slow down\, observe\, and reconnect with the natural world. \n  \nArt exhibit viewing access may be restricted during private event rentals. Calling ahead to confirm is recommended.

SUMMARY:Hive Mind Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:Visit the Massabesic Center to enjoy the Hive Mind exhibit. \nHive Mind is an exhibit based on communication and connection. For this group show\, Artists were divided into three groups\, each with a captain. The captain would present the group with an already completed work without telling them anything about the backstory or process; leaving the Artists to interpret what they perceived based on the image alone. Artists worked independently and finished the body of work\, minus the work that inspired the group\, which was given to another captain\, and they would interpret what they saw from the body of images provided. Themes and techniques were explored and all played a part in the interpretation. The finished exhibition is the full body of work from these collective Artists. \n \nNAV Arts is a group of loosely affiliated Artists\, Writers\, Musicians and Performers based in New England. Having no permanent space or gallery\, shows and exhibits are worked to different spaces\, based on a shared theme or idea. Artists of all disciplines and skill levels are welcome to take part. \n  \nArt exhibit viewing access may be restricted during private event rentals. Calling ahead to confirm is recommended.
