DESCRIPTION:Join NH Audubon for a birding walk along the trails at Massabesic Center in Auburn. \nThis is an informal birding walk that begins at MAC and explores the trails with local birder\, Joe Mahoney. All ages and skill levels of birders are welcome. If you are new to birding\, come and learn the basics! If you are an avid birder\, come to learn new techniques\, network with other birders\, or share your expertise with the group. \nBinocular rental included with ticket. Please dress for the weather. UNH-Extension Master Gardener Maureen Sinclair will be on hand to talk specifics about pollinator gardens\, as well.  \nAfter the presentation\, we’ll see these methods and more in action while touring the successful Teaching and Demonstration Garden\, which is maintained through a partnership between NH Audubon and UNH-Extension\, and provides the public with research-based\, sustainable gardening information and skills that benefit our environment for wildlife and for people.  \nThis program will take place both indoors and outdoors rain or shine. SUMMARY:BBW Pickering Ponds-Autumn
DESCRIPTION:An encore of the very popular Pickering Ponds walk on September 7. One of the top 10 birding spots in New Hampshire\, this walk will traverse Rochester city park trails along the Cocheco River and around the former wastewater treatment settling ponds. Meet at the Pickering Ponds parking area at 8am. The entrance is about a mile south of the Rochester Wastewater Treatment Plant on Pickering Road (opposite mailbox #374). Contact: Dan Hubbard at danielhubbard@peoplepc.com or 603-978-0218. \nThis field trip will be limited to 20 participants. Visit the Seacoast Chapter website for event details and to sign up. \n  \nBeginner Bird Walks (BBW)  \nThe NH Audubon Seacoast Chapter will have six Beginner Bird Walks (BBW) this fall\, 2022. Although these walks are geared with the beginner birder in mind\, birders of all levels of expertise are encouraged to participate and share their experiences. Children are gladly welcome with an adult. Participants should be fully vaccinated and are encouraged to bring binoculars\, water\, insect repellent\, and sunscreen. \n
