SUMMARY:The Balm for the Wounds We Bear Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:Visit the McLane Center to see “The Balm for the Wounds We Bear” exhibit by Kathleen H. Peters! Kathleen works with many mediums as an artist – such as pottery\, pastels\, paint\, cement\, wood\, metal\, and glass. This exhibit showcases her paintings and appreciation for the beauty of simple things. Kathleen shares that her technical background in engineering has lead to her understanding material properties of the mediums she works with\, allowing her to be precise and produce high quality works of art. She believes this skill allows her to fulfill her “greatest desire: to enrich the lives of others.” This exhibit will be in Concord from September 20\, 2023 to December 20\, 2023. \nThe Rookery by Kathleen Peters.\nVisit Kathleen’s website for more information on her background and art. \n

SUMMARY:The Rusty Blackbird: Elusive Denizen of Northern Wetlands with Dr. Carol Foss
DESCRIPTION:The Rusty Blackbird is a species of conservation concern that spends its entire life cycle in North America.  New Hampshire Audubon has been studying a breeding population of Rusty Blackbirds in northern New Hampshire and adjacent Maine since 2010.  This presentation presents basic natural history of the species and shares what we have learned during more than a decade of following these intriguing birds through northern swamps and softwood thickets.  \nThis presentation is available in a hybrid format.  You are welcome to join us in-person at the Massabesic Center in Auburn\, or virtually via Zoom!
