SUMMARY:Raised Bed Gardens - The Why and How
DESCRIPTION:Are you interested in creating raised bed gardens but don’t know where to start? Join Sean O’Brien\, UNH Extension’s Home Horticulture Assistant Program Manager\, for a two-part workshop\, including an introduction to the benefits of raised bed gardens and an in-person\, hands-on session to build wooden raised bed gardens. You’ll go away with skills and knowledge about location\, material selection\, construction methods\, and how to grow various plants in raised beds. \nPart 1 \nThe first part of the workshop will be virtual\, and is available at no cost.  There is no registration limit for the webinar\, but you must sign up by May 1st.  Participation in the virtual introduction session is required in order to attend the second session. \nPart 2 \nThe in-person\, hands-on portion has a limited capacity of 20 participants. If you are not able to attend the required webinar live\, you must still register for Part 1 and view the recorded presentation before you arrive to the workshop. SUMMARY:Jeffreys Ledge Pelagic Birding Trip
DESCRIPTION:Location: Rye Harbor\, NH\nMonday\, May 29\, 8 am – 5 pm\nCost: $80 Member / $100 Non-Member \nJoin NH Audubon aboard MV Granite State as we explore Jeffreys Ledge\, 20 miles off the New Hampshire coast. We’ll spend all day at sea\, searching for pelagic seabirds\, whales\, dolphins\, and anything else that happens to cross our course. Once you register\, you will receive confirmation and further information. Participants need to meet at Rye Harbor at 7:30am for check-in and 8am departure. Minimum of 30 participants. SUMMARY:Introduction to Nature Photography Class Series
DESCRIPTION:Join local photography expert\, Tracy Brunner\, at the Massabesic Center on a 6-week journey to learn about photographing nature! Topics covered include how to plan for shots\, ethics of nature photography\, how to make interesting landscapes\, wildlife photography\, macro techniques\, and more. The class will wrap up with a photo share and critique to see what you’ve learned throughout the 6 weeks. Classes will be inside and lecture-based with plenty of time for questions\, and each class will have recommendations for optional photo assignments. After this class you will have all of the tools and knowledge needed to start your nature photography career!
