SUMMARY:Fall Tree Identification Walk
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday\, November 9th from 2:30pm-4:30pm \nJoin UNH Extension Foresters\, Mike Gagnon and Greg Jordan\, for a relaxed fall tree ID walk. On this guided walk you will learn how to identify numerous species of shrubs and trees in winter using visual clues other than just leaves – clues such as shape\, branching patterns\, buds\, bark\, smell\, taste\, habitat\, cones\, and fruits. The ability to identify trees and shrubs by their bark\, twigs and buds is a very useful skill for anyone who spends time in the woods. Along the way we can discuss forest ecology\, tree disorders\, wildlife habitats\, invasive species\, or other questions that you have about New Hampshire’s forests. \nCo-sponsored by UNH Cooperative Extension. \nThe University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension is an equal opportunity educator and employer. UNH\, U.S. Dept. of Agriculture\, and New Hampshire counties cooperating. Our programs and policies are consistent with pertinent Federal and State laws and regulations prohibiting discrimination on the basis of race\, color\, national origin\, religion\, sex\, gender identity (including gender expression)\, sexual orientation\, disability\, age\, marital status\, familial/parental status\, income derived from a public assistance program\, political beliefs\, reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity. \nFor persons with disabilities requiring special accommodations\, please contact Mike Gagnon prior to the event. Given ample time\, we will make any reasonable effort to make accommodations
