SUMMARY:Jeffreys Ledge Pelagic Birding Trip
DESCRIPTION:Location: Rye Harbor\, NH\nTuesday\, September 6\, 8 am – 5 pm\nCost: $80 Member / $100 Non-Member \nJoin NH Audubon aboard MV Granite State as we explore Jeffreys Ledge\, 20 miles off the New Hampshire coast. We’ll spend all day at sea\, searching for pelagic seabirds\, whales\, dolphins\, and anything else that happens to cross our course. Once you register\, you will receive confirmation and further information. Participants need to meet at Rye Harbor at 7:30am for check-in and 8am departure. Minimum of 30 participants. SUMMARY:Photography Workshop at Massabesic Center
DESCRIPTION:Date: September 28th\, 5:00pm-6:30pm \nPrice: $12 for members\, $15 for non-members \nJoin local nature photographer\, Tracy Brunner\, at the Massabesic Center for a late afternoon photo hike along Massabesic Lake. The walk will start at the Center and continue on the trails to photograph the beautiful lakeshore landscapes and the local wildlife. During the workshop\, Tracy will discuss tips for getting the most out of your landscape photographs\, will provide suggestions for camera settings and creative compositions\, and answer your photography questions. \nRecommended Equipment: \n· Camera with spare batteries \n· Comfortable walking shoes \n \n· Wide\, standard\, or zoom lenses (any will will work) \n· Tripod (optional) \n· Polarizer or neutral density filters (optional) \n  \n  \n  \n  \nPhoto credit: Tracy Brunner

DESCRIPTION:Date: September 29th\, 4:00pm – 6:00pm \nPrice: $10 for members\, $15 for non-members \nAdvance registration required. Registration deadline: September 26th. \nRegistration Limit: 30 participants. \nJoin Richard Hodges from ReTreeUs to discover a novel way to grow schoolyard gardens. We’ll talk about sheet mulching techniques\, succession planting\, and building organic matter with an easy-to-do method. You’ll also learn the basic considerations and steps for planning and starting a schoolyard garden. UNH-Extension Master Gardener Maureen Sinclair will be on hand to talk specifics about pollinator gardens\, as well.  \nAfter the presentation\, we’ll see these methods and more in action while touring the successful Teaching and Demonstration Garden\, which is maintained through a partnership between NH Audubon and UNH-Extension\, and provides the public with research-based\, sustainable gardening information and skills that benefit our environment for wildlife and for people.  \nThis program will take place both indoors and outdoors rain or shine. If it downpours\, we will postpone.  Dress for the weather! \n  \n
