SUMMARY:Garden Insects: Friends and Foes
DESCRIPTION:Insects in the garden can be a problem – eating leaves\, piercing fruits\, or chewing roots. But some insects provide important benefits such as pollination and predation. We will search for insects\, explore identification techniques and resources\, learn how to discern friend from foe\, and gain skills to become an insect detective. A few tips on how to manage insect pests will also be discussed. This workshop will include some prework in preparation for the outdoor\, hands-on session.  Stay for an optional extension of the class until 7:00 p.m.\, which will include additional capture and ID techniques. \nLocation: Demonstration and Teaching Garden at NH Audubon’s Massabesic Center \n26 Audubon Way\, Auburn\, NH \nFee: $15/person; $10/NH Audubon member or UNH Extension volunteer \nREGISTER HERE \nAdvance registration required.
