SUMMARY:World Migratory Bird Day Outing: Boscawen Northern Rail Trail
DESCRIPTION:It’s World Migratory Bird Day! Join NH Audubon educators Nicole Hertel and Emily Peters for a morning of birding and data collection as we discuss this year’s World Migratory Bird Day theme: Every Bird Counts. \n**There will be multiple outings on this day at different locations. This outing will take place along the Northern Rail Trail in Boscawen.** \nAll ages and skill levels of birders are welcome. If you are new to birding\, come and learn the basics. If you are an avid birder\, come to learn new techniques\, network with other birders\, or share your expertise with the group. \nPlease bring your smart phones or other devices with cellular data connectivity to take photos or audio recordings and submit our important data! You may want to download some tools in advance\, such as applications like eBird\, Merlin\, iNaturalist\, or PlantNet. \nThis is a free event. Some binoculars will be available to borrow – please bring yours if you have them. Dress for the weather with sturdy shoes. Expect to walk between 1-2 miles over varied trails with some elevation change through grassy and wooded terrain. Trails may be soggy or muddy in the rainy season. Pets should be left at home for this outing. Follow GPS to Northern Rail Trail Parking on Depot Street in Boscawen. \nBy attending this event\, you and anyone you register on behalf of agree to NH Audubon’s Outdoor Education Program Liability Release & Agreement Waiver. Please contact Lauren Betz with any questions. \n  \nBirding Outings are free to attend. Your contribution supports priorities like environmental education for people of all ages across NH\, stewardship of nearly 10\,000 acres of conserved habitat\, science-based environmental policy and advocacy\, and statewide conservation research and wildlife monitoring.
