SUMMARY:Ask a Master Gardener Days
DESCRIPTION:UNH Extension Master Gardeners will be waiting for you to visit the Massabesic Center on select mornings this growing season! Bring all of your pressing questions about plants\, discover inspiration for adapting spaces at home\, or just enjoy the blooms! These events are also the perfect time to learn about getting involved in volunteer gardening opportunities at the Massabesic Center. \nThe luscious gardens on site include pollinator and bird-friendly plants\, a rain garden space\, vegetable gardens\, raised beds\, and more. As an ongoing partnership between New Hampshire Audubon and University of New Hampshire Extension’s Master Gardener Program\, Massabesic’s Demonstration Gardens provide a place for sharing best practices in eco-friendly home and community gardening\, which enhance human health and well-being and wildlife habitat. \nDress for walking in short grass on flat but uneven terrain. Sunscreen and personal insect repellant are recommended. Building hours (and bathroom access) are 11am to 5pm\, so plan accordingly. Visit the gift shop and meet our animal ambassadors after you spend your morning exploring the gardens. Consider packing a lunch to enjoy at one of the picnic tables surrounding the gardens. Children are welcomed and encouraged! \nGardeners will not be on site during inclement weather\, but visitors are still welcomed. \nThis event is free to attend. No registration required. \nSupport our programs and join or renew your membership today! Not sure of your membership status? Email our member services department or call (603) 224-9909 x310. \nFor mobility\, sensory\, behavioral\, or other accessibility accommodations\, please contact Massabesic Center Director\, Kimmie Whiteman. \nPhoto by Kimmie Whiteman\, Massabesic’s gardens in bloom.

DESCRIPTION:Visit the McLane Center during our center hours to enjoy the “Speaking for Wildlife: Living in Harmony” photography exhibit by Rebecca Scott (Alpine Averill Photography)! \n(Collage of photos from the exhibit\, by Rebecca Scott/Alpine Averill Photography.)\nAbout Rebecca Scott and Alpine Averill Photography: “Alpine Averill Photography is an adventure in life. Respect for wildlife & their habitats. There is quiet discovery\, exploration\, peaceful inclusion\, time lost in nature & storytelling that unfolds with the leaves in the trees. \nThis photo journey began at a young age with childhood dreams of working for National Geographic. In awe of wilderness\, an overflowing love for all animals & the creative desire to capture moments in time was my driving force. Alpine Averill the inspiration as a remote beautiful location where life reaches perfection\, Shangri-la. \nThe goal for sharing my passion & work is to express & extend the gratitude & joy that I feel while spending time in the field with all of these amazing animals. I hope to light a spark or encourage an enhanced interest in growth\, learning & understanding that all life on earth is connected. All is interdependent. \nAs a Conservationist\, an educated Geographer & Naturalist I present photos taken with deep connection\, care\, concern & spirit like immersion into the habitats visited.”
