SUMMARY:Concord Area Beginner Bird Walks - May 13
DESCRIPTION:Beginner Bird Walks: Concord Area \n8am McLane Center\, Concord. Turkey Pond trails. \nJoin NH Audubon for a birding walk along trails in the Concord area. \nThis is a 1-2 hour-long\, informal birding walk that explores trails in the Concord area with Mark Suomala\, experienced birder and weekly Rare Bird Alert compiler. All ages and skill levels of birders are welcome. If you are new to birding\, come and learn the basics! If you are an avid birder\, come to learn new techniques\, network with other birders\, or share your expertise with the group. \nCost: $8 Members/$10 Non-members. Registration is required; please purchase your tickets (below)\, although there are no actual hard-copy tickets. \nWear sturdy shoes\, and bring binoculars\, sunscreen (or rain gear)\, and bug repellent. Please leave pets at home. Several pairs of binoculars will be available for you to use on the walk at no extra cost. \nCapacity: 20 people \n  \nPhoto: White-throated Sparrow (Mark Suomala).

DESCRIPTION:Calling upon each artist’s distinct “Spirit of the Maker”\, the Nature Interpreted exhibition at New Hampshire Audubon’s Massabesic Center showcases the unique methods and techniques of three League of NH Craftsmen juried members. Participants include photographer Alicia Bergeron\, intaglio printmaker J. Ann Eldridge and serigraphic printmaker William Mitchell. The exhibition opens with a reception on April 30th from 2-4pm and continues at Massabesic Center through May 29th. \n\nMassabesic Center is open for the public to view this installation Tuesday – Friday 11am-4pm.\nSpecial hours for the opening reception are Saturday April 30th from 2-4pm.\nAdditional open hours will be Saturday\, May 7\, 9am-11am and Sunday\, May 29\, 9am-2pm

DESCRIPTION:Calling all volunteers – learn how to identify common invasive plants! Mike Gagnon\, Hillsborough County Forester\, will teach the basics of plant identification and lead participants through field identification of bittersweet\, multiflora rose and more. This workshop is specifically for New Hampshire Audubon volunteers who are interested in getting involved in invasive plant management at NH Audubon’s Massabesic Center and becoming a NH Audubon Invasive Champion. This is the second event in the NH Audubon Invasive Champion Training series. Registration is required.
